This area is great for beginners. It is usually the first stop for climbers that are new to the area. All routes have tag lines for hauling top ropes in place so you do not need to lead the route if you do not wish to. The name derives from an incident on the first ascent when local legend Chris Hamper's harness fell off mid-route due to a harness buckle blunder. Remember your buddy checks and enjoy some great climbing! We recommend starting with Buckle Blunder then Magnus' Variant then maybe Jug City if it is dry or Leif Hoegh or First Generation if you are ready to try go up a level.
The furthest left hand line starting from inside the cave and making your way through the small opening above. For this route you can NOT use the cave wall behind you to bridge on as you go through the opening. You may use the face holds only. This creates a hard crux move off of a small crimp to exit the opening.

5Start outside of the cave opening on the left or the right and make you way up to the overhanging section above then follow left bolt line to the anchors. This is the second most climbed route on Teacher's Hill.
5Follow Magnus' Extension but break right and follow the right bolt line around the overhanging section and curving back toward the top anchors. The anchors are off line for this variation so it needs top be led.
5Start just below the big flake in the wide slot feature and make your way up the flakes and to the obvious hold below the second bolt. From here the true Buckle Blunder route proceeds directly up a small overhang and to the anchors. Over the years Buckle HL Hybird has become the most climbed version of this climb. The hybrid route moves along right from the second bolt through a lay-back flake and around the ledge to finish on the end of Higher Level Problem. It takes the easiest combination of the two routes. It is slightly easier than Buckle Blunder and it seems like the more natural route.
5This is the most climbed route on Teacher's Hill. This is a Hybrid route that combines the beginning of Buckle Blunder with the end of the Higher Level Problem. It combines the two easiest sections of climbing on both routes and feels a bit more natural than Buckle Blunder. Make your way along to the right from the second bolt on Buckle Blunder through a lay back flake above and along the ledge to exit the end of Higher Level problem to the anchors. This was not originally a route but it has been added in this update of the crag as it has become the most climbed variation.
5Start below the flake like on Buckle Blunder but go under the overhang before the second bolt. Use the small holds under and on the overhang to jump for a sharp edge on the lower right side of the ledge. From there you must make a powerful big move to a small ledge just above the smooth whitish orange rock above and to the right. From here you make your way up the chimney to the anchors. 5The line of bolts through the overhang, crimpy and steep. A lead line has been added using two top bolts feel free to work the route on TR but be aware that the right side of this line has a sharp edge where the rope crosses and this could potentially damage a top rope. FA Chris Hamper
Exit the main road E-57 toward Flekke. You will see our local petrol station and grocery store, The Flekke Joker, on the right. Follow the small paved road for 3 minutes over a small bridge, past a frisbee golf course, then under a large overhanging rock cliff that was blasted to build the road. Continue on through a field and up a hill. Once you reach the top of the hill the turn will be part way down the hill on the left. You will see a large blue wooden structure on the left. Turn in there.
